Those present at the Annual Parish Meeting (held on 14th May) each chose their top three suggestions, which resulted in the following shortlist of three finalists:

a)  Simmonds Court (6 votes)

a) Coventina Court (5 votes)

Coventina was a Roman-British goddess of wells and springs and there are many inscriptions and carvings in and around Humshaugh. The image below is in Chesters museum. Some suggest that Tyne is derived from Coventina.

c)   St. Oswald’s Court (4 votes)

The suggestions will now be passed to NCC, where a final decision will be made.
